With the heat waves coming right out of a song and manifesting into reality, this summer heat is really turning out to be a bummer to all our big plans. The UV index is getting worse every day, and with it, a huge list of skin problems are arising.
Luckily, we have an easy solution to all sun damage problems- sunscreen. Now, you can either be lazy and risk getting sunburns, wrinkles, tans and skin cancer or you can just wear sunscreen. It’s as simple as that. The Spawake UV Care Range has sunscreens that are formulated with sea ingredients which provide well-rounded protection to your skin and leave a soothing after-effect.
1. Wear sunscreen at all times
A last minute decision to skip sunscreen can lead to long-term damage to your skin. Sunscreen locks in the moisture in your skin, prevents it from drying out and adds a UV protective layer to it. Make sure you get a sunscreen with a high SPF number. With SPF 50+/PA++++ the Spawake UV Cut Silky Milk provides strong protection against the sun by preventing skin darkening, spots and freckles. It is extremely hydrating and leaves your skin non-sticky and smooth without a residue.
2. Re-apply sunscreen after every two hours
No matter what the weather outside is, sunscreen should never be skipped. Activities like swimming, exercising, sweating, and towelling can wear off your sunscreen. Always remember to re-apply it after every two hours. If you’re on the lookout for a sunscreen with medium coverage, the Spawake UV Protect Aqua Gel, with SPF 30/PA++, is a better fit for you. It blocks out the harmful UVA and UVB rays, acts like a base primer, and leaves no residue.
3. Limit your time outside
UV rays are extremely strong between 10 am and 4 pm. If it’s possible, don’t step out during this time and even if you do, make sure you aren’t directly exposed to the sun rays. Stick to the shade and you’re good to go.
4. Use products with SPF
Several makeup as well as skincare products provide coverage as well as sun protection. Few common products that come with SPF are moisturisers, CC creams, BB creams, etc. You can check out the Spawake Brightening Solution Milky Smooth Day Moisturiser, which comes with SPF 25/PA++. It nourishes your skin, keeps it moisturised, and also protects it against UV rays.
5. Stay covered
Though shorts can look like an attractive option, they’ll expose your skin to the harmful rays. Wear long-sleeved clothes, preferably in a light material like cotton, which will allow your skin to breathe. Avoid wearing black as it radiates more heat. A cap, a scarf or an umbrella can be your new BFFs. And yes, skip the flip-flops please.
Drink enough fluids and always stay hydrated. If you already have some sun damage effects on your skin, be patient and continue applying sunscreen. Give your skin some time to heal on its own.
